We have had foxes active on Tomswood all the time that I have been a plot holder. This year there is one (I think it is just one) that is getting much bolder/more friendly than normal. I have seen it quite a few times now, and all times of the day. It doesn’t appear to be too bothered by humans, either, and hangs around to see what we will do.
I watched this one hunting a couple of weeks ago by the car park. If was clearly intent on something in a heap of grass and other cuttings and seemed ready to pounce on several occasions, but I didn’t see it actually catch anything. My guess and hope is that it was after rats, which would make it a friend indeed. Foxes will eat anything, especially something meaty.
However… Something fox size has been sleeping on my strawberries. Grrr. Foe.
Yesterday, whilst my family and I were working on the plot, I turned around to find the fox 2 metres away, having a nose around my bag. Bloody cheek. Come to think of it, that’s probably what he thought when I told him to clear off. He had that kind of look on his face.
